It has been a crazy week here in the McCoy household! We are all set to make a move to Oregon sometime next month but it has been a busy week of real estate sales, viewings, and offers. I am so happy to sit down and look at all the sketches for Sketch Tuesday…makes me feel calm and happy.
Thank you for all your hard work and the lovely sketches for this week’s slideshow.

We are going to listen to a more modern composer this week. Francis Poulenc has such a range of sounds in his work. Try the suggested piece and then if you want to try more, do a quick search on Youtube for some of his other works.
This has been a great month of creativity here at the Harmony Art Mom household. I am regularly scheduling in some time to refresh with some creative fun. Part of my winter goalswere accomplished which is great but also energizing…funny how we so easily push aside time for ourselves when it is exactly what we need to recharge our hearts and minds for the routines of life.
Music is something I have added to my creative time!
I have been listening to a lot of music as I work in my office and during my creative breaks. Here is one artist that plays on my Pandora channel that I would love to share with you. Fred Benedetti – Little Martha
I have been diligent about making time for my scrapbooking. My sister is a Creative Memories consultant and she invited me over to her office for a whole day of scrapping! I was all prepared and completed 26 pages, most with the journaling done as well. I am now at the point where I need to print some more photos and get going again. See the new Starbucks mug? It was a gift from my daughter the barista. It makes me happy!
I was inspired by so many of my blog friends to read this book in January. Although some of it seemed a little impractical to me, a lot of the direction in here helped me get over the hump of decluttering the hard stuff like homeschool papers, stacks of magazines, and other assorted things I have been holding onto for no real reason. It was like therapy as I worked through boxes and crates. I passed the book along to my daughter who also was inspired to apply some of the principles found in this book. One of my favorite people in the world is Tricia Hodges over at Hodgepodgeand Southern Hodgepodge. She sent me this little gem and it now proudly sits on my desk as a reminder to keep my creative side nurtured. If you haven’t tried her chalk pastel tutorials, you really should.
My husband and I took a trip to the closest Hobby Lobby to our house (about 40 miles). He had never been there before and we had fun browsing the aisles together. I picked up a few things and a model kit for my dad. What in the world would someone do with this gigantic plastic rose? It made a great photo….
