Don’t miss the link to the updated post below!

I’m working my way through all of my posts in the archives and making sure the most valuable of posts are brought to light in 2018. This week I’d love for you to take a look at one of my favorite, simple to use art appreciation resources, Child Size Masterpieces. I reviewed these cards over a decade ago and I still feel just as strongly today that they’re worth looking at for your family.

Child Size Masterpieces (postcard size pieces of art on sturdy cardstock) are an inexpensive and effective way to allow children to see with their eyes and touch with their hands great art from the most famous of artists.

Please click over and read my updated information about this resource that I highly recommend to all families.

Vivaldi – Mandolin Concerto in C Major

this was a wonderful performance featuring the mandolin. Ask your children what the mandolin reminds them of….a guitar, a ukulele, a bass? Would they like to play a mandolin sometime? Use the videos to inspire your family in their music appreciation journey.

Music Appreciation Monday – Pyotr (Peter) Tchaikovsky

It is never too early to start your children off with music appreciation. Creating a love of great music is a matter of exposure and training their ear to really hear the depth and beauty of each piece. You do not need any special training before offering classical music as a part of your family’s daily or weekly routine. Weave the music into your life and see how it reaches not only your heart but the hearts of your children. This week’s selection is from Harmony Fine Arts Grade 1 plans. See below for more information.
