We have reached our last week in this Intimate Impressionism series here on Harmony Art Mom. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these particular artists in preparation for our visit to the exhibit in San Francisco.
This artist is not an impressionist but is a painter in the Nabit movement (see the link below if you are interested in knowing more about that group of artists).
Vuillard on Wikipaintings – Please preview for appropriateness in your family because there are a few nude paintings.
Here are a few of my favorites:
- Breakfast at Villerville
- Mother and Child
- In the Red Room (would be fun to compare to Harmony in Red by Matisse)
- In End of Breakfast at Madam Vuillard
Nabi Painters (including Vuillard) – for advanced students
Vuillard and the Photograph – Interesting video on YouTube about Vuillard and his life (probably for older children)

Intimate Impression – Edouard Vuillard Notebook Page
Pull the painting up on your computer and let your children view it for a few minutes. Follow up with recording the information specified on the notebook page and then color in the image with colored pencils.
Here is a link to the painting: Public Gardens: The Conversation; The Nursemaids; The Red Parasol, 1894.
Here is the schedule of artists planned in this series:
