Summer Art Plans – Great Wave!

Last week’s Summer Art Plan was to create a piece of duck artwork….I had a hard time with this one! I am excited to share all of your duck artwork in the slideshow and appreciate every single one. Great job with a more difficult task!

Supplies:

  • 60# or heavier paper
  • Baby oil
  • Q-tips
  • Oil Pastels

All artists are welcome and there is no need to sign up. Send in your artwork in jpg format to: [email protected] by Monday, July 29, 2013 and I will include them in Tuesday’s slideshow.

Summer Art Plans – Ducks!

Last week’s assignment was from Tricia at Southern Hodgepodge. She helped you all to make your own Dragonfly Chalk Pastel project. What fun!

Each year the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service runs the Junior Duck Stamp Design Contest. I thought it would be fun to make duck artwork of our own just for fun. Maybe some of you will find you like this contest and will enter your art in a future year.

You can see the Flickr Set of Best of Show entries for inspiration:

Flicker Set – 2013 Duck Stamp

You can also study John James Audubon and his duck prints!

I think this looks like a wonderful colored pencil or watercolor pencil project but you are free to use any medium you would like for this project. I am really looking forward to seeing your work next week for the slideshow!
