This week’s assignment is due Monday, August 5, 2019.

Find a view where you can draw and then paint a scene like the one you see in this painting. You will need a foreground, a middle ground, and a background. Don’t forget to make your horizon line first and then sketch in the other areas. You may copy this painting if you would rather do that instead.

All sketchers are welcome and there is no need to sign up. Send in your sketches in jpg format and mail them to: [email protected] by Monday, August 5, 2019 for sketches and I will include them in Tuesday’s slideshow. Complete instructions are found by clicking the Sketch Tuesday tab at the top of my blog.

Intimate Impressionism – Claude Monet

Intimate Impressionism from @harmonyfinearts

I am continuing to prepare for my up-coming trip to the Intimate Impressionism exhibit at the Legion of Honor. I love Claude Monet’s paintings and eagerly anticipate seeing some at this event. I am also contemplating another trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on a trip to New York later in the spring. So much to look forward to!!!

This week we are going to take a closer look at Claude Monet. There is so much information out there about Monet so don’t get overwhelmed. Keep it simple!
