Music Monday on Harmony Fine Arts @harmonyfinearts.org Join us every Monday for a new musical selection.Symphony No. 4 in E Minor by Johannes Brahms

You will be captivated from the very first notes of this symphony! I can visualize all kinds of things as I listen…parts of it make me think I can be sailing on a boat and other parts I am soaring over fields of wildflowers. What images come to your mind as you listen? I hope you enjoy this selection as you do your sketching for the slideshow.

Music Appreciation Monday -Johannes Brahms

Today’s selection is one that fit my rainy day mood as I was preparing Music Monday this weekend. Ask your children what emotions they feel when they are listening to Brahms today. There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to sharing your reactions to a particular piece of music.

You may even listen to the Piano Sonata a couple times this week and see if your feelings about it remain the same with each listening period.

Piano Sonata No. 1 – Johannes Brahms

Did you like this music from Brahms? Did you listen with just your ears or could you “feel” the music in other ways? Sometimes it helps to close your eyes and listen…something to try to see if you can “see” the music in your mind.

This composer is featured in Harmony Fine Arts grade 7 plans if you would like to listen to more Brahms.
